Some key takeaways from my time sensei:
I have been wanting to get back into a regular practice of meditation and breathing, but for some reason this feels like a big “thing” that I have to start, like a new project that is hanging over my head.
Kari (my Sensei Guide) as well as my yoga, breathing, and meditation instructors at Sensei all encouraged me in different ways to insert some shorter breathing or meditation exercises throughout the day instead of committing to one longer session that might seem more daunting.
🧘🏼♀️ In 1:1 yoga, Christine keyed me into a habit I have of letting my inner hand “bubble up” when I’m in positions like down dog. This was so interesting to me because that correlates with a similar thing I do with my feet when running!
🧘🏼♀️ In my mindset 1:1 Lydia helped me use belly breathing with a longer inhale and an extended exhale to train the nervous system and tell it to relax and be at rest.
