This is Freedom's Hill Church. Originally built in Snow Camp, NC in 1848, this chapel housed the first Wesleyan abolitionist church in the South and was even used as a stop along the Underground Railroad! Relocated to SWU’s campus in 2000 and recently restored, this historical site is not only a beautiful part of campus, but also a symbol of the Wesleyan faith movement and racial reconciliation. The chapel contains original pieces including flooring, pews, the pulpit, and the original door riddled with bullet holes from pro-slavery protesters.

Now Freedom’s Hill Chapel is used for:
