The goal was to create images that empowered and elevated people that are often marginalized or at times do not get the same photographic treatment. This image featured Julian Gavino, thedisabledhippie (he/him/his). Julian is a trans, disabled advocate and respected voice in his community with a large, engaged social following. In this shot I used 5 different strobes to layer the light and create visual depth and drama. I also used ‘haze in a can’ to create a sense of painterly atmosphere.
