There was a low tide this evening, allowing me to walk to the water's edge and thus I was able to place the Milky Way almost over the Haystack Rock. It was really dark and somewhat eerie hearing the surf, but not seeing it.
I captured this shot using my Canon EOS 5D Mark IV, with a 15 second exposure at f/2.8 and ISO 4000 with my EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM lens at 16mm. Manual focusing the lens at just a tick off of infinity. Taking a small flash light is very helpful in getting all of your settings correct. These settings are a good starting point in order to show the stars and Milky Way as pin points."
