As a seven-year-old, Lili Villarreal visited NASAKennedy, where she saw rockets and spacesuits from the Apollo era, igniting her passion for space. Now as the Artemis landing and recovery director, she leads the efforts to retrieve future
#Artemis II astronauts from the Pacific Ocean after they orbit the Moon on their 10-day mission.
Hear her story in her own words:
"I worked on the space station program for over 15 years. I was ready to come over and work on Artemis because I wanted to be part of the team that was returning humanity to the Moon and eventually to Mars. And I thought if I can somehow be a part of that, I wanted to do that."
