Something’s fishy about this full Moon 🐟 The full Moon that will appear in the sky between Apr. 16–18 is sometimes known as the Fish Moon, because certain types of fish choose this time to make their yearly migration upstream to spawn. This full Moon also coincides with holidays around the globe. In the Hebrew calendar this Moon is known as the Pesach or Passover Moon, which corresponds with Passover Seder feasts. In the Christian ecclesiastical calendar, it is known as the Paschal Moon, typically around Easter. For Buddhists, the full Moon is known as Bak Poya, which commemorates Buddha visitng Sri Lanka and stopping war. For Hindus, April’s full Moon corresponds with Hanuman Jayanti, a celebration of the birth of Lord Hanuman. No matter what you call the Moon, don’t forget to look up and catch a glimpse!
