Piece by piece 🧩 In this image taken on Oct. 19, 2021, the Orion spacecraft’s crew module adapter is lifted in preparation for mate with the Artemis II European Service Module (ESM). The crew module is where astronauts will live while traveling to destinations in deep space. The ESM will provide propulsion, power, and thermal control to the vehicle, as well as supply the astronauts with water and oxygen. The crew module adapter connects these two critical components.
