20 years of humans living off planet 🙌⁣ ⁣ On Nov. 2, 2000, the Expedition 1 crew arrived at the International Space Station (iss), marking the start of 20 years of uninterrupted human presence on the orbiting laboratory.⁣ ⁣ This Dec. 2, 2000 photograph shows the configuration of the space station at the start of Expedition 1, taken by STS-97 crew members aboard space shuttle Endeavour during approach to dock with the station.⁣ ⁣ Two decades later, now on Expedition 64, the space station is a truly global endeavor.
