The scam goes like this… ▪️Someone messages you claiming to be an “artist” working on a project for a “client” who adores dogs. The artist asks for your permission to create a portrait or to do some type of collaboration. They plan on selling the art to their client. ▪️They may even send over the link to one of your picture posts saying they want to use that specific picture and ask if you own the rights. After giving consent and confirm you own the rights, they will give you some spiel about not wanting any legal issues or potential disputes over the proceeds from the sale of the work. ▪️They send you a “progress” photo and tell you it not completely finished and saying they hope you like it. I was at work when I received said message and quickly wrote back a response without really looking at the picture. I believe they are testing to see how gullible you are.
