Ideally, it’s best to have an account into which you put aside a monthly amount for your tax so that when the payment deadline approaches, you’ll have accumulated enough to pay HMRC. However, life is not always ideal! So what should you do if you find yourself short on cash to pay your Self Assessment tax bill? Well, if you’ve filed your latest tax return (and as a client, we will do this for you) and your tax bill is less than £30,000 plus you plan to pay off your tax debt within 12 months or sooner, and you’re within 60 days of the payment deadline, then you’ll be able to set up a Self Assessment Payment Plan using your Government Gateway account. If you owe more than £30K, it’s recommended that you call HMRC self assessment helpline for further advice. If you do find that you’re short, talk to us or take a look at HMRCs website (see our links in bio to click straight through). #essexaccountant #supportingsmes #businessadviceuk #uktaxadvice #smallbusinessadvice #accountingfirm ...
