Athletes respond differently to coaching. Some respond well to demonstration, while others respond better to verbal instructions. This is where the "Tell, Show, Do" Method comes in. Tell – Verbal instructions are provided before the performance of a skill and include specifics. Show – Demonstrations offer the athlete visual pathways to kinesthetic learning and gives them the opportunity to pick up important movement cues that may have been missed or omitted from verbal instructions. Do – the athlete’s turn to perform the skill with verbal cues and feedback from the Coach followed by continued repetition which leads to mastery. A good coach views their athletes as learners, and makes the learning process a priority in their relationship so that performance can improve. BTW, we still have 2 spots left for tomorrow's Sprinting Clinic with TWIST Coach Timothy. Link in bio to register. . . #coaching #coachinglife #sportscoaching #skilldevelopment#athletictrai...
