After 20 years of stepping into a gymnastics gym, it all comes to an end. It has taught me so much, but most importantly, it has showed me who I am outside of the sport. For everyone who doesn’t know my story, in January of 2023, I broke my arm at the first meet of my junior season. What should have been a quick couple month recovery, turned into a 14 month long waiting game. My arm didn’t heal correctly, which significantly limited so much of my range of motion and made normal daily things very difficult. I got surgery in September to correct it as my senior season was quickly getting away from me. However, after so many doctors appointments, physical therapy, and scans, I was able to compete again at the last meet of our season. This was something that meant so much more to me than just being in a leo again, and I couldn’t have done it without everyone around me.
