“This has been probably the most difficult week since I have been a Getty Images editor. After the magnitude 7.1 earthquake that struck Mexico, we have seen and received thousands of images related to the devastating consequences of this event in Mexico City, Morelos and Puebla. Once again, as happened 32 years ago, Mexico’s capital city is highly damaged. We needed to switch to show the other face of this situation, and when we talked about what to get, hope was at the top. This image taken by Hector Vivas (hvivas24) in a shelter for affected civilians, made me think, after seeing so much destruction and sadness in the streets of my city, that there is always hope. He has delivered so many great and stunning photos, but these two kids and their innocence stayed with me; no matter what the situation is and what the people have to face out there, there is always a chance to find a better day, and these people are going to find their way again soon”. - alan_espinosa29 | Mexico City Pictu...
