"A balloon from Mexican family beaches on the American side of the mouth of the Rio Grande in Boca Chica, Texas. The mouth of the river, which flows into the Gulf of Mexico, marks the eastern end of the U.S.-Mexico border, which runs west almost 2,000 miles to San Diego, CA. #Immigration and border security have become major issues in the U.S. Presidential campaign. It was the last day of my 2,000-mile trip and I needed to see the far eastern end of the U.S.-Mexico Border. At the end of the road, I had to drive a few miles along the beach to reach the mouth of the river. The sand was soft and so I had speed along to keep from getting stuck. When I finally reached the river I climbed a dune and was photographing a heron when I looked down and this balloon had floated up to the shore.
