"Ever since I heard that the beach volleyball venue would be situated on #Copacabana Beach, I wanted to photograph the event. I can't think of a more quintessential venue that combines Olympic sport and the location of the Games. I wanted to tie the two together in one photo and show that the games were taking place on one of the most famous beaches in the world. I went up high at sunset to shoot a general view and hoped for a pretty orange sky. The weather didn't quite cooperate, but I ended up with a deep purple/blue lit sky with just a hint of pink. You can still see the mountains and the beach and the waves crashing on the left hand side and clearly know it is #Rio.
