Wrapped up National Suicide Prevention Week by going to the
#outofthedarkness Suicide Prevention walk in Benton. I've spent a lot of time thinking about suicide prevention this week and the importance of helping those around us. It's so incredibly important to help friends and to know how to do such, especially in times of crisis. The steps are easy. It's the act of actually stepping up that can be hard. But over 1000 college students will die this year by suicide. If you know someone who is struggling with their mental health, don't be afraid to reach out. Don't know how? Don't be afraid to ask me.
Speaking of friends. This is my friend Becca. She recently won Miss Louisiana Port City, and her platform is my nonprofit, No Place like Hope. What an honor and a privilege to have someone like her support us. I can't want to see what we do during your term, and I can't wait to see you perform at Miss Louisiana. You rock, Becca.
