In this year’s third student-athlete ceremony at Canisius High School, five more Crusaders were honored as they made official their commitment to college athletic programs, bringing this year’s CHS total to 18.
The senior student-athletes who expressed their thanks and appreciation in the Brady Conference Room were:
Domenico Callocchia of Buffalo – Ithaca College (football and track)
Patrick Sullivan of Orchard Park – Williams College (football)
Josh Hemmerling of Orchard Park – SUNY Oswego (baseball)
Liam O’Keefe of West Seneca – Roberts Wesleyan (volleyball)
Kellen Palmer of Buffalo – Loyola Chicago (volleyball)
Six seniors committed to college athletic programs in November while seven did so in February.
Canisius is again tracking to have around 15% to 20% of its senior class participate in college athletics, far above the national average of less than 2%.
The five seniors were introduced during the ceremony, and they each stood up and offered thanks.
