Ryan and Mandy Gainuss were loaded up and ready to go on a vacation to Texas. Outdoorsy types who love to go camping and live off the land, the couple was set to go on a fishing trip for a few days. What they didn't anticipate was the EF4 that hit Winterset that same day, March 5, 2022, tearing through homes and killing six people. The tight-knit community of about 5,000 people has rallied around the couple to help raise the rest of the money that insurance wouldn't payout. A group of volunteers will soon break ground on a new home with the hope of them living in it before the next anniversary of the tornado. Tap the link in our bio for more on this s...
