To make eating more straightforward and organized. Centuries ago, a French courtier discovered that it is easier to concentrate on eating if one doesn’t have to look around for one’s fork or knife at each meal. Viola! The systematized table setting was born.
Here is a quick pretend play activity to work on setting the table:
🍽️ Place the big plate in the middle, directly in front of you.
🍽️ Place the smaller plate on top of the big plate.
🍴 Place the fork on the left of the plate.
🥄 Place the spoon and knife on the right side of the dinner plate.
☕️ Place the drinking cup near the plate.
🍝 Time for the fun part, serving the meal!
