And like Maze Featuring Frankie Beverly, the legendary soul band which created the 1985 hit, the Tigers are back. Just as the theme notes, after a soft return to homecoming last year, coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic, students, faculty, staff, alumni and community supporters are looking forward another round of annual events returning in full force — some for the first time. Tennessee State junior and student trustee Shaun Wimberly Jr. was a freshman in the fall of 2020 when he and his fellow newcomers missed out on their first homecoming as students. Wimberly, whose parents attended the school, experienced Tennessee State homecoming as a child, but was looking forward to being a part of it as a student.
