With Cha Pizza set to close, the group behind the Willoughby-based restaurant, which Cleveland Magazine recently named one of the city's 25 best, is bringing two unique experiences to one building in Ohio City. The two-level eatery will feature different concepts on each floor. The first floor is planned as a casual, high-energy izakaya, often described as a "Japanese-style tapas bar," while the second floor is becoming a 20-ish-course omakase experience with just eight seats. "The izakaya will not be fully authentic Japanese because I’m going to infuse it with international taste, because I’m from Indonesia," owner Johanes Jonathan explains. "I want to introduce the Cleveland people about the omakase experience. This will be traditional Tokyo-style omakase, with more luxurious and rare fish." 🖊️ dougtrattner 📸 Vince Grzegorek #cleveland #clevelandrestaurants #ohiocity #omakase #izakaya #willoughby #wheretoeatincleveland #newrestaurantsincleveland
