When does  10 + 24 = 5,958?  When TWENTY-FOUR students in the COM 466 Nonprofit Leadership and Development class partner with TEN local nonprofit agencies and give an average of 30 hours of service-learning time to raise nearly SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS for and build service capacity in those agencies.  The end-of-semester final presentations, seen here, encapsulate the embodiment of their service-learning efforts and celebrate the great learning partnerships NC State students have created and nourished over the years through COM 466.   Agencies including Dementia Alliance, Activate Good, the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, Live It Up Hillsborough!, MARBLES Kids Museum, and Special Olympics NC, all benefit from these students’ mini-internship service learning experiences.  “Our mission and vision in COM 466 is to enhance good citizenship and valuable lifetime skill sets of our students while helping to build capacity in our community through the nonprofit sector.  We hope that everyone will someda...
