“I wanted to be a Peer Career Coach because it was a great group of people that I was able to work with as a student,” said Adam Whitacre.
Whitacre, a UNL senior majoring in Ag-Economics with a minor in Agronomy, is a Peer Career Coach for the CASNR Career Center.
The CASNR Career Center works with Career Services to provide information on agriculture and natural resources careers, interns, and full-time employment. Adam first paid a visit to the center looking for some resume assistance.
“At that time, I was hardly involved at all on campus and lacked campus involvement. The administrators and Peer Career Coaches were able to tell me which clubs and organizations had meetings that week. Without their help, I wouldn’t have been able to have the experiences I have had,” said Whitacre.
Whitacre, after first visiting as a student, later went on to become a Peer Career Coach himself.
“I wanted to help other students achieve their dream job,” said Whitacre.
