“I get to see so many people all the time. Nine times out of ten if I’m in here then I’ll see people that I know, and they’ll come up and talk to me” Caroline Gomel, an interior design major, is a student worker at the East Campus Union. While primarily at the welcome desk her favorite part of her job is talking and making connections. “I had pretty good communication skills before this job, but it’s just strengthened them. Talking with a lot of different people, different ages, and that’s going to directly affect my major because that’s half of what I’ll be doing, talking with clients.” Any job you take can turn into a career building experience.
