My kids are currently hearing so this is hypothetical.
If you asked me this a few years ago I'd likely have a mix of emotions the strongest being sadness. Because up until a few years ago I didn't want my children to have to go through challenges. But now I do - because I know the challenges presented to me as a child were what helped me build my resiliency, coping skills, motivation and positive mindset. If possible, I want my children to experience challenging friendships, obstacles and emotions while I'm available to support closely. And if one of those challenges was being deaf or hard of hearing - well, ahem, I DO have a little bit of personal experience with that so I feel confident that I could answer questions along the way and help them pave their own path.
I would feel a bit of confidence like a mother raising a daughter. Instead of helping them hold a fork or chopsticks, I'd teach them how to put their hearing devices on independently, or know when their listening fatigu...
