Linda Canzanelli has volunteered at the Museum for eight years. In 2014 she learned about volunteering at an event at St. Augustine Beach Pier. Throughout her career in the National Park Service, Linda managed eight lighthouses but never was able to enjoy them. We were a perfect fit! She received an undergraduate degree in history and her master’s degree in public administration. Linda started as a clerk typist for the service in 1977 and then became one of only sixteen female Superintendents by 1989. Linda and her wife Pat have been together for 32 years and met through a women’s center on Long Island in 1988. In 2002 they purchased a house on Anastasia Island and rented it out to Flagler college students until retiring to Florida in 2013. They enjoy gardening, and their yard is a massive butterfly garden.
