Last fall, a parent’s worst nightmare came true when a 6-year-old boy sunk to the bottom of the pool at a birthday party.
Though the party was surrounded by adults, no one saw what happened until he was already underwater. Luckily, a fast-acting and CPR-trained party guest started performing lifesaving CPR and the boy survived with no complications.
YMCA member Jill Hunt was so moved by this story that she startedSave a Life to raise funds to provide free CPR education to parents and families so that more members of our community are educatedand able to help in an emergency.
The Valparaiso Family YMCA, through generous donations from Save a Life, is proud to offer CPR classes tailored to saving children and youth in emergency situations. This CPR class will take place on March 23, 2024 from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM in the Presidents room.
