The crowd buzzed with excitement Friday morning as the sun intensified over Oregon Square in Northeast Portland when Jefferson High School senior Kobi Flowers was crowned the 110th Portland Rose Festival Queen.
The honor recognizes Flowers’ contributions to school and community and her commitment to positive change, the
@PDXRoseFestival said. Flowers, who graduated June 2, will attend Howard University this fall to pursue a career as an anesthesiologist or pharmacist. At Jefferson, she participated in the Black Student Union and served as the student government secretary and varsity cheer captain.
