The Portland Bureau of Transportation is auctioning off a streetcar, if you’ll take it off their hands ASAP. Streetcar 015 was built as a prototype in 2012 by Oregon Ironworks/United Streetcar and is reported to have just under 70,000 miles on it. According to the listing on govdeals.com, the streetcar was listed as a prototype because of its propulsion system, which was made by Rockwell Automation, a company that had not yet made a specific propulsion system for electric rail vehicles. The listing also details all the types of systems and technical aspects of the streetcar. It has not worked since 2020, according to the listing, and may have undiagnosed issues because it was sitting in disuse for so long.
