discovered imperfectfoods for our weekly groceries subscription and we've been having so much fun handpicking groceries on our devices. oh, what would we do without technology? it gives us something to look forward to every week, and a reason to experiment with recipes. “Imperfect” foods that don't make the cut, e.g. too small or oddly shaped, but to me, they are perfectly imperfect! 🥲 if anything the past year has taught me to be more efficient with ingredients.
we had some ‘imperfect’ organic fuji apples laying on the kitchen counter so I turned it into an upside down caramel apple cake.
Ingredients for caramel sauce:
50g unsalted butter
90g brown sugar
50g heavy cream
2g cinnamon powder
1 tsp salt
Ingredients for cake:
2-3 apples, sliced in chunks
2 eggs
100g caster sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
220 heavy cream
200g cake flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
3g baking soda
