Join us in thanking Cathy for telling her story. “I was diagnosed in April 2019 with right breast cancer after a routine mammogram. I have no family history nor did I ever smoke, but this time, there was a spot noticed, ultrasound performed, two days later, a biopsy completed, and three days later the phone call with the news. I was lucky to work at MedStar Franklin Square, so I knew the doctors I wanted to take care of me, Dr. Kristen Fernandez and Dr. Gabriel Del Corral.” “Working with the Breast Center was so easy to navigate. The staff was so kind and caring. I had a mastectomy and reconstruction in July. Since that time, I have done well. I was able to return to work in September. I consider myself one of the lucky ones.
