"I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2018 at only 38 years old. I was in complete disbelief that this nightmare was my reality as I had always taken care of myself. My world pretty much stopped as I underwent a double mastectomy in November 2018 and reconstructive surgery in April 2019. My son was only five years old, and my husband took on all of our care while maintaining his full-time job. It was the toughest, most demanding event we've ever faced.
