@atlutd secured their spot in the CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinals after a narrow 1-0 in the second leg of their tie against LD Alajuelense. While the first leg was a wildly entertaining affair, the second leg was almost the opposite. Neither team registered a shot on target in the first half, and both clubs struggled to find meaningful chances for much of the game. With Alejuelense finding themselves down 1-0 on aggregate, the visitors pushed for a vital away goal to even the tie late, but Atlanta would eventually sentence the scoreline thanks to a Jurgen Damm goal in the dying minutes of the match. Besides the positive result for Gabriel Heinze's side, Atlanta fans will be happy after seeing
@josefmartinez17 make his first start for the club in over a year. It was a fairly quiet outing for the Venezuelan, but that's perfectly fine. Simply having him back is more than enough.
