The good old days. What a side @atlutd had back in 2018, and how much do they miss their core players who delivered an MLS Cup. How much do they miss Gressel flying down the touchline, Nagbe dictating the game from midfield, LGP commanding the back line, Almiron pulling the strings in attack, Josef turning every chance into a goal, and Tata Martino orchestrating the entire thing. Atlanta United were a juggernaut -- explosive, dynamic, and entertaining to watch. With Frank de Boer taking charge in 2019, the team slowly seemed to lose its identity and the edge that had characterized them the previous year. Even then, though, the majority of core players from 2018 helped carry Atlanta United deep into the playoffs last season.
