@dcunited’s first two games in 2020 were not exactly what fans had been hoping for. Rooney and Acosta’s departure following the end of 2019 meant that the club would need to find new pieces in attack if they hoped to continue to compete atop the Eastern Conference. In the offseason, the addition of top players like Julian Gressel and Edison Flores, plus the return of Yamil Asad, helped to build some excitement around the 2020 season. In their season opener, D.C. United fell to the Colorado Rapids in a disappointing outing at home. In their second game, against Inter Miami, it seemed DCU were bound for another defeat, but a quick turnaround in the second half -- and a sensational Brillant game winner -- allowed the team to earn their first victory of the year.
