We did the world’s first ever 5-camera podcast on an LED Volume Video Wall 🚀 The Volume at Stray Vista is the same technology that they filmed The Mandalorian on. It uses Unreal Engine 5 to render entire worlds and then maps your position in front of them to make it seem photorealistic. It’s the largest virtual production studio in Texas. Usually this technology is reserved for movies. They shoot one scene at a time with a single camera, actors, pre-decided scripts with dialogue, and the ability to cut and reset. The foreground lighting and camera positions are dialled in advance to make the subjects seem immersed in the colours of the landscape on the screen to give it realism. We attempted this with 5 cameras, live. Never done before. We used 10 different scenes across 4 episodes which actually switched live DURING the episode itself when the conversation changed from one topic to another.
