Uh-oh, your hearing device got wet? I still have some anxiety when my devices get wet but luckily I have backup options if they aren't functioning. The first time I had swim lessons as a kid I jumped into the pool with my hearing aids on. I freaked out, jumped out and ran to the bathroom under the hair dryers. It took a few days to dry but they eventually worked. My mom had our audiologist send them in for repair for extra peace of mind. While most devices are now water resistant they are still electronic devices and they don't mix with moisture! Don't worry, here's what to do: Dry them off: Gently wipe away any visible moisture and use a tubing blower for the earmold tubing. Remove the batteries: Take out any disposable batteries and dry the compartment. If rechargeable turn them completely off. Use a drying device: Pop your hearing devices in an electronic drying/UV light box or use a hearing aid dehumidifier kit. Let them dry overnight: Check them in the morning. If they're stil...
