1. UC Santa Cruz alumna Chanda Prescod-Weinstein, a cosmologist mapping out the next two decades of research using astrophysical observations to study dark matter as well as an organizer for the Strike For Black Lives, a high-profile online campaign to demand that institutions confront racism in science and anti-Black racism throughout society.
2. UC Santa Cruz researcher Karen Miga who co-leads the Telomere-to-Telomore (T2T) consortium that is working to produce the first truly complete sequence of the human genome.
