In a squad full of dog whisperers, Leading Senior Constable Daron Collier stood apart, with a guru-like reputation for understanding man's best friend. So, it’s no surprise that after 35 years Daron, is stepping into retirement as one of Australia’s longest ever serving police dog handlers. 🐕‍🦺👮 It was a role he dreamt of doing from a young age, and after graduating in 1985, it took Daron four years to make that dream a reality. Following years of catching crooks and rescuing missing people, Daron spent 18 years as a trainer and mentor for the unit where he cemented his legacy. "It’s such a hard job, so it’s really important they have someone to look up to,” one colleague said. “The respect people have for him is because they could see he knew what he was talking about.
