We are so happy to work with eatlearnplay and literati to curate engaging, high interest, culturally relevant books by authors that reflect the diversity of Oakland students. As one of our Founding Co-Directors, Cassie Perham says, “While book distributions can’t solve the literacy crisis alone, making sure that all Oakland kids have access to books that they can’t wait to read, that they see themselves in, and that they get to pick out for themselves is one of the many things it will take to help our students learn and love to read. We are delighted to be partnering with Eat. Learn.
