*BUILDING A SOLID BACK SIDE* #PHTNATION welcome back for another week of #FitnessFriday This week’s exercise is called a bird dog. Sometimes we get so caught up training the front side of our bodies that we neglect the backside. The posterior chain (hamstring, glutes, erector spinae..) is important when it comes to maximizing power when extending the stride leg and battling along the boards or in front of the net. Step 1: Get on hands and knees with hands directly beneath shoulders and knees below your hips. Step 2: While maintaining a flat back, extend your opposite arm and leg so that they are parallel with the ground. Hold for 1-2 seconds. Step 3: With control, bring that arm and leg back to the starting positions and repeat on the other side. Note: exhale when extending arm/leg and inhale while bringing arm/leg back to starting positions. Complete 3 sets of 6-8 reps per side. #hockeyboys #hockeyfamily #hockeygram #hockeylife #hockeytraining #hockeyday #hockeyplayer #icehock...
