Do you think I’m a food critic and I do food reviews? 🤔 One of the reasons I’d never call myself a food critic or say righteouseats does “reviews” is out of reverence for writers like pete_wells, plattypants, and the late the_thejgold, along with newer scribes like jenn_harris_, nomnomnikita, and luke.fortney. 🤜🏼🤛🏼 Though I was far from great (or even nice 🤷🏻‍♂️), I’ve been a writer for complex and an editor for xxl, dreaming of seeing my byline in the newyorkermag nymag nytimes. I pitched many stories, got grilled by editors, fact-checked until my eyes bled, and chased down subjects—all for the craft, nah’mean?
