Want to make your garden a fun place to play? Create a friendship fort out of pole beans! Kids have a fun play space AND handy snacks! 🌱 Any pole bean variety will work well for this activity. Lash together the ends of six to eight 8’ lengths of bamboo, sticks, or other stakes. 🌱 Stand them upright, spreading the ends of the bamboo pieces to create a cone-shaped fort. 🌱 Push the bamboo pieces into the ground for stability. 🌱 Clear a path around the bamboo pieces to create the planting area. Loosen the soil and add some compost or slow-release fertilizer. 🌱 Plant 2–3 pole bean seeds at the base of each piece of stake, leaving a section unplanted as a door. 🌱 Gently water the seeds at planting time.
