Do you have what it takes to earn the best views in the world? Yes, we mean that literally. European travelers will joke that they can indulge in all the pizza and pasta their heart desires after touring large cities and “getting their steps in,” but some tourist attractions take sightseeing to another (more physical) level. For example: The Flørli Stairs in Norway require visitors to climb 4,444 steps on the world's longest wooden staircase which sits about 2,427 feet above sea level. If you’ve done it, you know the 360-degree views of fjords and mountains from the top are well worth it.
The other sites on this list–which require a hike, climb, or tre–were assessed by the number of steps involved, total elevation change, and the average daytime temperature to earn an “exertion score.” Have you conquered any of these and if so, was it worth it?
