When you don’t let the pizza rolls cool down…🔥 Should’ve let it cool down! What’s that sound? Each national park has a unique soundscape. From a babbling brook to a thundering waterfall to yips of a coyote pack and bellowing bison, such sounds compose immersive experiences important for wildlife, wilderness, visitors, and cultural-historic events. Protecting the unique sound environment of parks is one of the many ways the National Park Service works to sustain parks for future generations. Sounds convey important information about the ecosystems animals inhabit. Animals depend on hearing natural sounds in the environment for a range of activities, including:

📢Communication
📢Establishing territories
📢Finding habitat
📢Courting and mating
📢Raising families
📢Finding food and avoiding predators 📢Protecting the young 📢Alerting others when a hot pocket has set fire to one’s mouth 🥵🍕 Image: Collage of four animals, a ground squirrel, bison, owl, and elk with mouths ope...
