“Always follow your heart unless your heart is bad with directions.” – Spongebob SquarePants
There’s nothing wrong with following your heart, but maybe balance it with a map. Picking the right trail for you and your group is also important. Are you ready, kids?
Three hours later…
Your heart is saying “I could hike up these boulders for hours!” (You know, the ones pioneers used to ride for miles?) However, your feet are saying, “you wore flip flops…why are you like this?” (Side note. Always bring proper footwear. Flippy floppies may lead to slippy sloppies. 🤔 Well, it made sense to us.)
Recognize your abilities and the abilities of your group. Pick a trail that everyone is prepared for and can successfully complete and enjoy safely. Check a park’s website or ask a ranger for details on the difficulty level of trails.
