It’s International Pageant Day🤩 I have to give credit to #pageantry for being one of the avenues I get to express myself and feel completely free about it. It also plays a part in my #eczema journey. I told jenniferfugo in our interview today that it’s a struggle to compete with eczema. When you’re surrounded with women who seem so perfect and flawless, it’s hard to not feel out of place. We also talked about how I’m placed in this public spotlight where judgement and criticism is everywhere. I have been told by people and received messages that said I should not to compete, that I look gross, no one will want to talk or take photos with me, etc. At the time, it sucked. Ate away my confidence. So how’d I deal with that? I have to remember that I am not defined by my skin, my body or this shell I tried to hide in.
