1. You can tell you’ve kneaded your dough just enough when you can stretch it out roughly 2-4 inches without it breaking apart.
2. Double check the yeast – some recipes call for ‘fast-acting’ yeast while others don’t.
3. Proof properly – you can test if your dough has been properly proofed if you can poke it with your fingertip & leave a small indentation with a very slow spring back.
4. Babysit your bake! Treat your bread like you treat your children, don’t leave it unsupervised for too long.
5. Once you’ve finished your perfect loaf, make sure you store it properly. Homemade bread can last between 3-4 days when stored in a bread box & 3-6 months when stored in a freezer.
