It was a surreal moment, seeing this iconic building in real life. This entire trip, I was seeing these things I had only seen pictures of. Now, I am the one behind the camera. I sat around The Louvre for about two and a half hours, people watching as the sunset went down. I saw a couple get engaged and offered to take their picture to remember the moment. Afterwards, I decided it would be fun to offer to take pictures for total strangers. I would try and offer in French first, then usually switch over to English (probably because my French was so bad that they couldn’t understand what I was actually trying to say). I would use cell phones and nice digital cameras, whatever they had to capture the moments while they were there. Sometimes it was super uncomfortable, others lead to great conversations. The risk of being uncomfortable however, was so worth the reward.
