One year ago this week I tore my ACL and Meniscus playing pick up football with my friends and family. Today I played sports for the first time since that injury. It was a long road back. Surgery. Months of physical therapy followed by months of conditioning to strengthen my knee. In the long run of things today was just a baby step, but for anyone who knows me they know that a year long absence from the joy of competition was incredibly difficult. Taking the field today was nerve-wracking, but it feels so good to be able to run around with my friends again. It feels like an important part of who I am returned today, and I know I will never take that for granted again.
